Dutch Harbor house
Located on a narrow lot, with expansive views of Dutch Harbor, the size and location of this house were limited by the Rhode Island Coastal Resource Management Council. This small, modern, 2000 square foot house has a green “live roof” to control run-off, dark grey Accoya siding and trim to blend into the landscape; limiting the impact on views from the harbor. Sunlight moves throughout the house year round. The large glass doors provide views from and through the house. The skylight brings southern light into the house. The neutral interior materials and color palette intentionally do not compete with the landscape and water views.
