BOSTON TOWNHOUSE
Our brownstone renovation in Boston is nearing completion. This series of photos shows the evolution of the stair from the third floor to the sun room.
Our clients purchased a brownstone in the St. Botolph neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts with the intent to restore what had fallen into disrepair. Throughout the project we identified low quality work that had been done throughout the late 1900’s and replaced it with high quality craftsmanship that matches the original aesthetic of the apartment. Completely gutting the master bathroom allowed us to design a much more modern space. A unique part of the property is a penthouse sunroom addition that was added in the 1980’s. Now illegal to build in the neighborhood, it is a highly valuable component. Foster Associates was tasked with providing a better, more modern way to access this space. A light, winding, open riser stair brings you up to the penthouse level. We removed the front and rear walls entirely, replacing them with floor to ceiling glass.
