Wildflower Lane: In PROgress - Completion 2022

A wonderful opportunity to design a house and guesthouse for a colleague; a landscape architect and her partner; a chef and wine expert. This small house and guesthouse are restrained yet generous in their response to the clients passions for plants, landscape, cooking, entertaining and dogs. The driveway passes through the working part of the site; where greenhouses, raised beds and other horticultural pursuits are located. The buildings located at the back of the property are sited around a private fenced pool and terraces, keeping small dogs safe and predators at bay. The materials and shapes of the buildings are limited to simple gable and flat roofs, clad in vertical gray siding with metal and green“live” roofs. Well insulated with triple pane windows and doors, the energy requirements for both buildings will be covered by solar panels.
